The Role
We are seeking a Senior Market Surveillance & Risk Lead to establish, lead, and continuously enhance the firm’s market surveillance and risk management function in Austria.
This role is critical in monitoring trading activity, identifying market abuse risks, and ensuring ongoing alignment with EU and local regulatory expectations, including MiCA.
What You’ll Do

Lead the market surveillance and risk management framework for the Austrian entity

Design and implement methodologies to detect market manipulation, abusive behaviour, wash trading, and suspicious activity

Oversee real‑time surveillance tools, alerts, escalation, and investigation processes

Ensure compliance with EU and Austrian regulatory requirements, including MiCA‑related conduct, risk, and market abuse obligations

Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework, covering:

Operational risks

Market risks
-
Custodial risks
-
Counterparty risks

Produce internal and regulatory reporting on risk indicators, incidents, and remediation measures

Partner closely with Compliance, Product, and Technology teams to assess risks related to product changes, system upgrades, and business growth
What You’ll Need

University degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Risk Management, or a related discipline

5–8+ years of relevant experience in:

Market surveillance
-
Risk management
-
Compliance
within financial institutions, trading venues, fintechs, or digital asset platforms

Strong understanding of EU market abuse regimes and MiCA requirements
-
Experience working with surveillance, monitoring, and analytics tools

Strong analytical, investigative, and leadership capabilities
-
Fluency in English; German is strongly preferred

Based in Austria
